Pampa: Government’s stubborn attitude and strong restrictions resulted in a high decrease in Sabarimala income this year. Records prove that unprecedented dip in the first 11 days in this pilgrim season. This records a decrease of 25.46 crores.
In Aravana sale, the records show a dip of 11.99 crore, Appam sale 2.45 crore and in room rent,a loss of 50.62 lakhs. The only hike is in book stall income, marked an increase of 4.37 lakhs.
Last year at this time a sum of 41.7 crores was offered by devotees and now it tapers to 16.23 crores. The state Government’s adamant decision to implement the Supreme Court verdict without considering devotees’ attitude has resulted in such a loss. Protest of devotees against Government’s move to make women of menstrual age to enter Sabarimala is another setback.
Moreover, unanimous opinion raised against the Government,it’s cruel approach on innocent pilgrims and police atrocities in Sabarimala – all paved the way for huge loss in income.
