Thiruvananthapuram: A fresh alert has been produced from Health department warning the possibility of nipah outbreak in the state. The chances of outbreak is from December to June.
Health department is issued this alert as a part of precautionary measures.The alert indicates that people should take fruits and vegetables only after thorough cleaning.
Hospitals should have separate sections to observe patients with nipah symptoms. Patients suffering from cough must cover their face with towel or mask while going out. Arrangemets should be done in medical colleges as well as in district and taluk hospitals, informs the health ministry.
The state witnessed nipah outbreak in last May.18 people lost life in the virus infection.
