Bharatiya Janata Party Kerala Unit President K Surendran has expressed shock and concern over the silence of political leadership and human right activists with regard to widespread post-poll violence on a particular community in West Bengal.
Addressing a party meeting held to mark its protest against the violence witnessed in West Bengal, here on Wednesday, the senior BJP leader said it is even surprising that even the media has been keeping the issue on the back burner.
He said the attack is not against the BJP supporters but was aimed against a particular community, irrespective of their allegiance to a particular party.
The fundamental and anti-national forces are behind this. It is high time that the party leadership of the Congress and the CPI(M) realise the fact that the revolt is not against the BJP but against a particular section, Mr Surendran remarked.
The saffron party is holding a nation-wide dharna today against the widespread post-poll violence unleashed by Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers a couple of days ago.
