Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday informed that a Red Alert has been issued in three districts on May 14 following the low pressure formation in southeast Arabian Sea.
In a message, the CM said Red Alert was issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta on May 14 and in Malappuram, Kozhikkode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod districts on May 15.
The message said a Low Pressure Area is predicted by MeT department in SE Arabian Sea by May 14, could intensify into a Cyclonic Storm. Very heavy rains, winds in Kerala on May 14 and 15.
Fishermen are advised not to venture out to sea and follow guidelines issued by the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority.
