A 104-year-old woman from Kannur has recovered from COVID-19 disease at Kannur Medical College hospital (KMCH) at Pariyaram and discharged on Friday.
Janakiamma of Taliparamba was admitted at the hospital after she tested positive for the infection and discharged after 11 days treatment.
She was admitted at the ICU of KMCH on May 31 in critical condition during treatment at Taliparamba Covid Care centre.
Kerala Health Minister Veena George congratulated the doctors and other staff of the KMCH for bringing Janakiamma back to life.
The minister also pointed out that the confidence of Janakiamma in defeating Covid was an inspiration to all.
Janakiamma returned to her home after free treatment for Covid at KMCH.
However, Janakiamma’s daughter-in-law and and her mother are being treated for Covid, said KMCH Principal-in-charge Dr S Ajith.
