Thiruvananthapuram: Amidst largely rising covid cases in the state, today a review meeting to be held in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. It is such an irony that a small state like Kerala has the highest number of covid cases in the country. The review meeting will discuss the increase in covid spread in places. The test positivity rate in the state yesterday was above 10. Kerala records largest number of covid patients in the country.
Also, due to ongoing rise in protest among traders, more relaxations are likely to be announced after the review meeting today. The restrictions to be imposed in micro management zones. Currently, only the zones under A, B, C categories have more relaxations. The meeting is also likely to discuss the relaxations to be expanded in more places.
Wards where covid spread is high are likely to be closed. Weekend lockdowns are likely to revoke.The lockdown restrictions were revoked for three days during Bakrid festivities which also added to the covid case increase, says the opposition parties and the medical authorities.
