Thiruvanthapuram: Shocking revelation by Swapna Suresh yet again against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Swapna in her statement to the investigation team said that she had smuggled foreign currencies at the instance of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. She also said that she had smuggled foreign currencies at the instance of former speaker Sri Ramakrishnan.

It was in the year 2017. At that time in connection with Chief Minister’s UAE trip currencies were smuggled.  After reaching UAE, then Principal Secretary Shivashankaran contacted Swapna on phone. He said that a packet needs to be delivered to the Chief Minister. And then as per his instruction, UAE Consulate admin attaché delivered the packet directly from UAE.

Earlier, another accused in the gold smuggling case, Sarith also has given a statement that foreign currencies were smuggled at the instance of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He said he was given 1000 dollar tip was given to him by consulate general for delivering the packet. Sarith’s statement is now solidified by Swapna’s statement today.

It’s the first time that a case with huge national security ramifications has come up against a sitting Chief Minister.
