Thiruvanthapuram: Onam celebrations should be minimum in view of the covid situation, says Police Chief Anil Kant. He addressed senior police officials and district police chiefs through video conferencing on Thursday and assessed the security arrangements in connection with the festival season.
Onam feast and other celebrations should be done inside homes. Police should ensure that covid protocols are be strictly followed by people going to beaches and other tourist spots, DGP said.
Night patrolling should be strict during the festival season. Police should be vigilant against thieves. Special patrolling will be there at places where migrant workers stay. Pink police patrolling in cycles and bikes will be expanded at public places.
Ealier DGP had ordered to diversify Janamaithri police and Women Police cell activities.
