Kochi: Sree Narayana Gurudevan’s message of humanity and oneness still resonates in the hearts and minds of not only Malayalees but people across the Nation and beyond. Gurudevan came from a humble background. At a time when Kerala’s society was gripped with untouchability and other social evils, Gurudevan’s message of one caste, one religion and one God for humanity had a tremendous transformational power in the society.
Chathayom star in the month of Chingam month is Gurudevan’s birthday and today is Gurudevan’s 167th birthday celebration. His message was to uplift the Hindu society. Chathayom Day celebrations has begun in Varkkala Shivagiri Madom today. Shivagiri Madom chief Swami Vishudhananda hoisted the flag. Following all the covid guidelines, prayers and puja happened in the early morning. This was the first Chathayom day celebrations after Swami Prakashananda’s Samadhi, who was the guiding force for the organization.
But visitors will be restricted in the Shivagiri Madom today. In Gurudevan’s home in Chembazhanthi prayers were held which was attended by people around and SNDP members.
