Breach of human rights; dignitaries mark protest

Thiruvananthapuram: Luminaries from different walks of life have expressed their protest on human rights breach against Ayyappa devotees and the pathetic situation of the state. A joint statement has been produced that demands the release of BJP State General Secretary K Surendran, who is arrested and detained from Sabarimala.

M G S Narayanan, Dr. K S Radhakrishnan, P Parameswaran, Suresh Gopi MP, S Ramesan Nair, Madambu Kunjukuttan, Shaji Kailas, Shathrughnan, V R Sudheesh, U K Kumaran, Thayatt Balan, R K Damodaran, Sreekumari Ramachandran, Saji Narayanan are among the dignitaries who have expressed their concern about the lack of basic amenities in Sabarimala. The joint statement also makes concern about  police’s action of blocking devotees,arresting them, helping atheists and activists to breach the centuries old tradition and culture.
