Kochi: The minister for food and civil supplies, M Thilothaman has instructed to cancel Women’s commission chairperson M C Josephine’s BPL ration card.The action is being taken as the impact of Janam T V report regarding the issue.
Janam TV revealed the truth a couple of days ago, that M C Josephine, Chairperson of the Women’s Commission, who draws more than fifty thousand per month,included her ration card among customers of BPL . Food minister P Thilothaman has responded to Janam TV that he will enquire the matter at the earliest.
M C Josephine’s ration card,number 1735038020 belongs to Murukkumpadam ration shop at Elamkunnappuzha Panchayath in Ernakulm District. As chairperson, she earns 60,000 rupees per month but mentioned in ration card that all seven members of the card draws only 1800 rupees. Josephine’s brother johnson’s wife Mary Leoniya is the card holder.
The family owns BSNL land phone connection, gas connection and vehicles but ironically, the family belongs to the below poverty line group in the ration card.
