New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi, fearing backlash from his communist allies, refrained from naming the communist party behind the double murder of Congress workers in Kasargod.
In a Twitter message, the Congress Party President condemned the brutal murder of the party workers saying it was shocking and that the party stands in solidarity with the families of those killed.
However, the tweet of Rahul Gandhi did not mention the name of the Communist Party, a clear deviation from the stand taken by his state leaders. Surprisingly, the Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala and KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran are visible in their accusation against CPI(M).
Many believe that Rahul Gandhi’s deliberate omission of the Communist Party in his tweet is seen as an attempt to keep the alliance intact.
Moreover, ordinary Congress workers are worried that the Party President went out of the way to appease the communists even at the expense of his own party workers’ lives.
