Kannur: The talk of the town is the controversial release of the film titled, “The Kerala Story” which is set to release on 5th of May, 2023. The communist government and its ministers are asking for the ban of the movie and to not be shown anywhere as according to them it defames and is trying to spread hatred for the state. Recently, the CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindhan has also spoken about this.
He stated that the CPI(M) party has no agenda of hurting any religion or caste sentiments and that RSS is trying to poison Kerala through such movies. He added that CPI(M) doesn’t want to ban the film, and it is for the state government to decide whether or not to ban it.
The director of the film, Sudipto Sen has said that everyone should only criticise a film after seeing it. At the same time Kerala CM, Pinarayi Vijayan has said that this is a way for Sangh Parivar to create strife among the people of our society, targeting the next Kerala elections.
