KOCHI: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) confirms that the mother ship which carried drugs worth Rs 25,000 crore that was seized of Kerala coast, had sunk. The ship sank in front of the Navy and those who were on the ship escaped in speed boats. The efforts to recover drugs from the sunken ship will continue. The drugs that were transferred to the boat from the ship have been seized. NCB also informed that those who escaped in speed boats would not have crossed India’s maritime borders.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that the drugs seized from Kochi worth Rs 25,000. This was revealed after 23 hours of detailed estimation. 2,525 kg of methamphetamine was seized by the authorities.
The preliminary conclusion was that the drugs were worth Rs 12,000 crore but during detailed examination it was found that the drugs were worth Rs 25,000 crore. Pak ship which set sail from Iran coast was under observation of Indian Navy after it entered India’s sea borders. The seizure was part of Operation Samudragupta and it is reported that this is the biggest drug bust in the history of the country.
