Kochi: It is suspected that Pakistan based terrorists are behind the drugs seized by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) off Kerala coast. The symbols of gang involved in anti-national activities were found in the seal of the bags seized. Meanwhile, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) have collected details in the case. The NCB has questioned the arrested Pakistan national. He will be produced before court.
The Indian Navy and NCB have seized drugs worth Rs 25,000 crore as part of Operation Samudragupta from Kochi. NCB is of the conclusion that gangs in Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan ports that smuggles drugs through mother ships are behind this. They were travelling to India, Sri Lanka and Maldives in three mother ships. One of these ships was captured the other day.
The boxes and sacks that were captured were embossed with the symbols of a scorpion and Rolex 55 seals. The symbols are linked to the ill famous Pakistan based Haji Salim cartel. The NCB had earlier seized 200 kg drugs worth Rs 1500 crore belong to this group. During the investigation, the NCB had found the Haji Salim and Afghan connections but they haven’t suspected terror links. But the continuous actions aiming India and Sri Lanka have raised suspicions. The NCB will investigate this in detail.
The NCB is questioning the arrested Pakistan native in detail. As per reports, more information has been received from him. The NCB have hinted that more people will be arrested soon. The Navy and NCB have intensified inspection in main ports and the Indian sea.
