Thiruvananthapuram: The controversy regarding the SFI leader’s impersonation at Christian College in Kattakadda has put the CPI(M) district leadership in a defensive spot. It is believed that the infighting in the party led to the controversy.
Allegations are also raised against an MLA of the CPI(M), who is believed to have put pressure on the Principal of Christian College to insert the name of SFI leader, Vishak, as the College Union Counselor in the list given by the college to the University. The Union Counselor seat was actually won by Anakha. However, her name was replaced with Vishak, who did not even contest the college elections.
The party had come to know about the controversy before it became public and it constituted a commission to investigate the matter. The commission is led by Kovalam Area Secretary, PS Harikumar. The commission has taken the statement of Anakha on the basis of the complaint. It is believed that Anakha has given statement against the SFI leadership.
Following the controversy, the Kerala University Union Election has been postponed.
