Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a further rise in temperature over many parts of Kerala, which will add to the misery of a dry spell being witnessed in the state.
Reports say that IMD predicted high temperature and a humid air in Kozhikode, Alappuzha, Kannur, Palakkad, Trissur, and Kottayam. The weather forecast agency has also issued a yellow alert in these six districts.
The IMD put out a Yellow Alert on these districts because it expects a rise of 2 to 4 degree Celsius.
According to the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority in a statement said, “Maximum temperatures are very likely to be around 37 ̊C in Kozhikode district, 36 ̊C in Kannur & Palakkad districts, 35 ̊C in Alappuzha, Kottayam & Thrissur districts (2 to 4 ̊C above normal) on 20.05.2023.
Hot & Discomfort weather is very likely over these districts except in hilly areas (Yellow Warning) due to High Temperature and humid air during next 2 days.”
