Kasaragod: A case has been filed against a Muslim League leader for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy by giving drugs under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police have booked Muslim League (IUML) president of Muliyar Grama Panchayat committee S M Muhammed Kunhi (58) in the case. He is also a panchayat member.
The incident related to the case happened on April 11. According to the complaint, Kunhi kidnapped the boy, took him to a crusher facility near his house, and assaulted him after giving drugs. The boy informed this to the parents and following this they filed a police complaint. The boy also stated that the accused had assaulted another boy.
The police filed POCSO case against Muhammed Kunhi after preliminary investigation. He went absconding since then. The police have intensified search to find him. He has been expelled from the party after the case was registered.
