Couple found hanging just one week after their second marriage; children from woman’s first marriage too found dead

Kannur: In a shocking incident, five persons, including three children, were found hanging at a house at Cherupuzha panchayat in Kannur district. The deceased are identified as Shaji, his wife, Sreeja and three children, Suraj, Surabhi, and Sujin. The three children were Sreeja’s from her previous marriage.

Shaji had married Sreeja only a week before, on May 16. While Shaji and Sreeja were found hanging from a fan, the children were found dead and hanging from the staircase. The police believe that the couple might have killed the children and committed suicide. It is reported that Shaji has another wife and two children.
