Kozhikode: A hotel owner, Siddique, was murdered and his body cut in to pieces and dumped. The police suspect that the crime was committed by his former employee, Shibili (22). The body parts of the victim were recovered in a trolley bag that was dumped at Agali in Attapadi.

Siddhique is a native of Tirur in Malappuram district and owns a hotel. He had gone missing since May 18. His son had filed a missing person complaint with the police after four days, when he suspected foul play as money was being withdrawn from Siddhique’s account through ATMs located at different locations.

Three persons have been arrested in connection with the crime. Shibili and his friend Farhana (18) were arrested from Chennai. The third suspect is Ashiq, who was taken into custody by the police.

Police say that Shibili was a former employee of Siddhique. He was fired from his job for indiscipline and the police suspect that this could be a motive for the murder.

Siddhique was most probably murdered on May 18 or 19. His son said that his father went missing the day Shibili was fired from the job.

The inquest is being carried out.
