Kochi: Kerala State General Secretary of the Petroleum and Gas Workers’ Union, PK Anil Kumar, is under severe criticism over the purchase of a MINI Cooper, which is worth ₹50Lakh. The union is affiliated with the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU).
The criticism and outrage began after the CITU leader was seen in a photo taking delivery of the new car. Anil Kumar, on the other hand, claims that the premium car was bought by his wife, who is an employee of the Indian Oil Corporation.
As per reports, the CPI (M) has launched a probe against the leader following the controversy, but most details of the investigations are kept closely guarded.
Reportedly, the CITU leader already owns a fleet of vehicles, including a Toyota Cresta Limited Edition and a Toyota Fortuner.
Anil Kumar also made the headlines earlier when he threatened a woman owner of a gas agency in Kuzhupilly, Vypin, Kochi.
