Malappuram: According to media reports, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in many places in Malappuram district linked to Popular front of India (PFI) activists, on Wednesday. The NIA conducted the raids as part of its investigation into a plot by the banned PFI to attack Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on July 12, 2022, at a rally in Bihar, said the report.
The raid at Malappuram is part of a combined operation undertaken by NIA. The investigation agency also raided many PFI-linked areas in Karnataka and Bihar as well.
The NIA raided 16 places in Dakshina Kannada and some places in Bihar also. It is reported that houses, offices and hospitals linked to PFI activists were searched in Mangaluru, Beltangady, Puttur, Bantwal, Venur, etc.
