Aluva: Savad Shah is not your common hero, who saved the country fighting militants. Nor is he a winner of gold medals in Olympics. He is also not a hero for saving someone’s life. Yet, he was given a hero’s reception, when he stepped out of a jail in Kerala after getting bail. By the look of Savad’s grin when he was garlanded, it seems he too was surprised at the rousing reception he got from an, hitherto, unknown organization called ‘Kerala Men’s Association’.
Savad Shah became a hero for the ‘Kerala Men’s Association’ for flashing his organ publically at a girl in a KSRTC bus at Aluva on June 3, 2023. The victim, Nandita Sankara, who was forced to witness Savad’s ‘heroic’ deed, was brave enough to capture his actions on her mobile phone. She protested Savad’s action to the conductor.
Our ‘hero’, who quickly realized that his actions were not appreciated by those in the bus, made a dash to the door in an effort to escape. The conductor tried to stop him but he pushed him aside and ran away. His ‘heroic’ deeds were promptly caught on Nandita’s mobile.
Savad Shah could not make his daring escape and was eventually caught by those standing near the bus stop and was handed over to the police. He was produced before the court and remanded.
After the incident, Nandita Sankara, took to social media and released the videos of Savad in action. She said that Savad sat between her and another girl and started misbehaving with them and touching their bodies unnecessarily. She said that he unzipped his pants and pulled out his organ and flashed it at her. Her protests went unheeded. That was when Nandita began filming him.
Even after the video went viral, some ‘men’ at Kerala Men’s Association believe that it was a trap set by Nandita to increase her followers on Instagram. These conspiracy theorists suddenly came from nowhere and announced that they would give a rousing welcome to their flashing hero, Savad Shah.
These members of Kerala Men’s Association reached the entrance and gave Savad Shah a rousing reception when he came out of the jail. Someone even garlanded him with jasmine flowers. Pictures were taken with Savad Shah, who was seen smiling foolishly. Before the reception went overboard, Savad Shah jumped into a car and left the scene.
The victim Nandita Sankara said that she is being stoned for her actions while the culprit is being greeted with flowers. She is also being insulted and hounded on social media for standing up against a pervert.
Now observers believe that there is a conspiracy behind Kerala Men’s Association’s support to a pervert, maybe for political or religious reasons. Otherwise, ask the observers, how can such an organization under normal circumstances come in support of a culprit like this in a short time?
Nandita Sankara’s case is not unusual. Women in Kerala are being subjected to misbehaviour and ill treatment by perverts. However, Nandita took the bold decision to stand up against the perpetrator.
Now the support that the perpetrator is receiving is what astonishes everyone. Kerala, which boasts itself of women security, literacy and reform movements, now have to witness a perpetrator being garlanded in for flashing in public. Those women who took part in the women’s wall in support for Sabarimala entry might be now thinking twice if they are really safe in communist Kerala?
