Ernakulam: Officials from the Ernakulam Central Police Station arrived at Maharajas college on Tuesday evening and recorded the principal’s statement in the case of forging documents under the name of the college. The principal told the officers that the accused did not receive any help from the college. Kochi police said that the incident took place under the jurisdiction of Agali police station and the case will be handed over to them. The forgery was exposed when Vidya produced the fake certificate for an interview as the Malayalam guest lecturer at Government College, Attappadi, on June 2.
An alumnus of Maharajas College, Vidya had already worked as a guest lecturer at Maharajas College for two years and was trying to get a job at the Attappady government college with the use of forged document. However, she was caught when the authorities at Attappady College got suspicious of the document. Following this, the college authorities were in contact with Maharajas College, and then the college authorities logged a complaint with the police.
Earlier, Vidya had also secured a job using forged documents at Karinthalam Government College in Kasaragod district using a fake certificate from Maharajas College. Vidya worked as a guest lecturer from June 2022 to March 2023.
