Trivandrum: The education department has withdrawn the decision to extend the working days to April. The school will be closed for the mid-summer vacation on the last working day of March as always. The school will only be working for 205 days, with this there will changes in the educational calendar prepared prior to this.
Earlier, an educational calendar was released for schools with a fixed number of 210 working days. Since then, various educational institutions have come out against the government’s decision.
The teachers’ association came forward against the government because the decision to extend the working days was taken even without holding a meeting. The announcement was made by the Educational Minister, V. Sivankutty, in his address while the reopening ceremony programme was being held at Malayinkeezhu School.
