Kochi: A report said that, Film Federation Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) General Secretary, B Unnikrishnan, asked why the Excise Department was not taking the statement of actor Tini Tom, who had recently revealed about drug usage in the Malayalam film industry. B Unnikrishnan also reminded that Tini Tom is brand ambassador of the Excise Department.
B Unnikrishnan, in a presser, also expressed his anguish against Excise Department for raiding a hotel room of a director, Najim Koya. He accused criminal conspiracy against the Excise officials for raiding the director’s hotel room, said the report.
The FEFKA General Secretary asked if the Excise had called Tini Tom to record his statement. He said the Excise team came from Thiruvananthapuram to raid Najim Koya’s room. But these officials did not take Tini Tom’s statement.
Actor Tini Tom is the brand ambassador of the Police’s awareness campaign against drug usage dubbed ‘Yodhavu’. During Kerala University’s Youth Festival, the actor had said that drugs were prevalent in the Malayalam industry. He also said that he did not allow his own son to act in a movie fearing drug usage.
Tini Tom, in his speech, also mentioned about an accomplished actor, who is using drugs. Tini Tom had said that the actor’s teeth have begun to break due to drug usage.
