Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) has stepped up its assault against the press and the voices of dissent by threatening that it will take case against anyone found campaigning against the SFI. This threat was given out by CPI(M) State Secretary, MV Govindan. He also said that those who are behind the conspiracy against SFI will be handled as part of the case.
He said that the issue, where a SFI leader, Arsho, secured a pass in an exam he did not write, is different and no one will be spared in the name of news media. CPI(M) leader MV Govindan was speaking to journalists when he made these statements of veiled threats.
He said anyone who is found to be part of the conspiracy will be booked. Cases were registered before also like this.
Earlier, journalist, Akhila Nandakumar, was booked by police for conspiracy after she brought out a story of SFI leader, Arsho, making fake mark list. He was declared pass in examinations that he did not even write.
However, Arsho retaliated by saying that a conspiracy was hatched against him and SFI by the College authorities and Akhila Nandakumar. He then gave a complaint to the police and they promptly booked the journo even without a preliminary investigation.
SFI State Secretary, Arsho, gave the complaint against Akhila Nandakumar after the CPI(M) gave public support to him. Earlier, the CPI(M) State Secretariat had said that the issue is a campaign against SFI and that Arsho’s explanation to the party was satisfactory.
