Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of State, V Muraleedharan, has come down heavily against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and his government after a mute child was bitten to death by stray dog.
V Muraleedharan said that when Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was claiming that Kerala is world class at Times Square, as part of the ‘Loka Kerala Sabha’, a mute boy was being bitten to death by stray dogs.
The BJP leader leveled his criticisms against the CM on his Facebook page. There might be stray dogs at Times Square, but they won’t kill anyone, he said on his social media post. He said that every civilized society’s government will be cautious against stray dogs biting people.
He said that Pinarayi’s government should at least provide an atmosphere where people can walk on roads without fear and children can go to school safely. He said someone at Times Square ought to have asked about this.
V Muraleedharan also reminded the death of Shiluamma who was killed in 2016 by a street dog, during the first year of Pinarayi government. The very next year another person was also killed in the same area.
Muraleedharan also revealed that eight persons have died due to attacks from stray dogs last year. He said that stray dogs are roaming everywhere. The main cause for the rise in the population of stray dogs is the increasing waste being dumped.
He also said that the central government had notified on The Animal Birth Control Rules, 2023, two months back. He asked what actions have the local bodies in Kerala have done.
