Malappuram: Close on the heels of the death of a eleven year old child in a stray-dog attack in Kannur a few days back, another child was attacked at Nilambur in Malappuram. Fortunately, the boy was rescued by his grandmother and the local residents said a report.
Five year old Sayan Mohammad, an LKG student, was on his way to school, accompanied by his grandmother, when the attack occurred. Reports say that three dogs attacked the child just 50 meters away from his house. Luckily, the grandmother and some local residents, who were playing nearby came to his rescue.
Sayan Mohammad has been brought to the Manjeri Medical College Hospital for treatment as medicines for treatment was not available at the district medical facility, said the report.
He sustained injury to his face and body.
Earlier, a mute child of eleven years of age was killed by stray dogs not far from his home in Kannur. The incident sparked outrage among the local residents.

The BJP leader requested the CM to provide at least an environment, where people can go out without fear and children can go to school safely. He also blamed the mounting garbage for the increase in stray-dogs attacks. The state government has failed in managing the garbage disposal in many parts of the state. Also, the state government has not been able to bring the menace of stray-dogs under control.
