Former CEO of Technopark questions Kerala Government’s rationale in opposing Adani Group’s takeover of Thiruvananthapuram Airport

Thiruvananthapuram: The former CEO of Technopark, G Vijaya Raghavan has accused the Communist Government of unnecessarily opposing Adani Group’s takeover of Thiruvananthapuram airport. He blamed the government of playing politics in the 10-point questions and statements that he posted on Facebook.

The former CEO asked why the government was preventing the development of the airport and asked why the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (KSIDC) is being anti-investor.

G Vijaya Raghavan pointed out the irony in KSIDC questioning Adani Group’s prior experience in airport operations when KSIDC itself had no experience in managing an airport. KSIDC also did not raise these objections when they took part in the bid.

In a serious allegation, the technocrat said that the KSIDC had given a lower quotation than the amount they were planning to bid and demanded to know the person who had instructed them to do so.

He also asked why the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) was prevented from entering the bidding at the last moment by the government.

The Adani Group had earlier won a bid to take over 5 airports under the Airport Authority of India that includes the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Adani Group will take over the operation and infrastructure development of the airport once the formal procedures are complete.
