Kasaragod: Former SFI leader, K Vidya, who is on the run after being exposed in a fake experience certificate case, has submitted another anticipatory bail in a case registered by the police at Nileshwaram in Kasaragod district. She submitted a anticipatory bail plea at the district session court in Kasaragod.
K Vidya, in her plea, reiterated her former argument that she is young and unmarried and an arrest could destroy her future. She also said that she has not done any non-bailable offence. The former SFI leader had also submitted a similar plea at the High Court earlier.
Meanwhile, the police are still in the dark about Vidya’s whereabouts. She has been missing for the past sixteen days and police have failed to locate her. Her earlier anticipatory bail that she had submitted at the High Court in the forgery case has been postponed to next week.
Her case pertains to submitting a fake experience certificate at Attapaddy Government College to secure a job as guest lecturer. It is alleged that she made a fake experience certificate showing that she had worked as guest lecturer in Ernakulam Maharaja’s College.
Vidya, in her anticipatory bail plea argued that the case against her was for political gains. She had informed the court that the non-bailable offence against her will not stand and that she is ready to cooperate with the investigations. Moreover, the bail plea argues that Vidya is young and unmarried and an arrest will hurt her future.
A case was registered against Vidya on June 6 and she has been in hiding since then. The forgery case and her absconding have raised a political storm in the state. The fact that the police are unable to trace her even after two weeks has put the police force in the state under the spotlight. Huge criticisms are raised alleging that political pressure from the ruling government has delayed her arrest.
