Trissur: A district level leader of SFI, GN Ramakrishnan, has been accused of sending pornographic video to a minor girl through mobile phone. The girl is a member of Balasangam, which is a children’s organization affiliated with the CPI(M). GN Ramakrishnan is also the state level leader of the children’s organization.
Ramakrishnan sent pornographic video to the phone of the minor girl, whom he got acquainted through Balasangham. The incident came to light after the girl and her family approached the CPI(M) leadership with the complaint. As a face saving measure, the communist leadership removed Ramakrishnan from his position after the incident went viral through social media.
Ramakrishnan was also accused of abusing a Devaswom official by calling his caste name. Ramakrishnan was working as a temporary staff at the Guruvayur temple when he abused the official. The communist leader had faced actions against him in that issue also.
Even after being accused in this case, Ramakrishnan was able to get party positions. There are criticisms that he was able to obtain party positions due to his close connections with the top leadership of the CPI(M).
