Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala University (KU) has cancelled the MCom admission of SFI leader, Nikhil Thomas, who gained entry after submitting forged degree certificate at Milad-E-Sherief Memorial (MSM) College in Kayamkulam. The order to squash Nikhil’s MCom admission was given by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohanan Kunnummal.
Nikhil Thomas, who failed in BCom applied for MCom admission using forged degree certificate of Kalinga University. The Kalinga University had made it clear, earlier, that the degree certificate is a fake and confirmed that Nikhil Thomas was never a student of that university.
The Kalinga University authorities also asked the Registrar of Kerala University to take action against Nikhil Thomas for tarnishing the image of the university.
KU has also demanded an explanation today itself from MSM College, which had admitted Nikhil Thomas to the MCom program based on his forged degree certificate. Action will be initiated against MSM College after KU receives explanation. Surprisingly, Nikhil Thomas had gained admission to MCom at MSM College, where he had studied and failed in BCom course. The SFI has ousted Nikhil Thomas from his position in the party after the news of forgery came out in public.
The Vice Chancellor of KU also added that a decision will be taken by the Syndicate concerning the inspection of the degree certificates from universities outside Kerala used by students to get admission at Kerala University courses.
