In a press conference, AK Balan, a member of the CPM state secretariat, called for an apology from the media to SFI state secretary PM Arsho.
Balan criticized the media, claiming that their actions were part of a conspiracy to damage and diminish the reputation of SFI. He came to the defense of SFI leader Arsho who supported Nikhil Thomas, another SFI leader, who gained admission to MCom course by submitting a forged degree certificate from Kalinga University. Arsho himself is under the scanner for securing a pass in his semester exams without attending it. AK Balan asserted that there was nothing wrong in Arsho’s support to Nikhil Thomas, the accused in the forgery case. Balan emphasized that SFI is a dedicated organization and expressed their commitment to rectify any errors that may be identified.
Balan stated, “Since the formation of SFI, no such allegations have arisen. We will investigate the matter concerning Nikhil Thomas. However, SFI’s influence is limited in this regard. Recommending candidates for management seats is a common practice, and the media wrongly accused Arsho. I urge all media outlets to issue an apology to Arsho.”
Expanding on his remarks, Balan emphasized that all universities in Kerala fall under the influence of SFI, highlighting the organization’s widespread presence. He described SFI as a successful and victorious entity, attracting students from various political affiliations due to its broad appeal. Balan dismissed the allegations against SFI as an attempt to damage its reputation, reiterating that the party is committed to taking corrective action whenever necessary.
Taking a dig at KPCC President Sudhakaran, who referred to MV Govindhan as an “indecent leader,” Balan disregarded Sudhakaran’s comments, stating that they did not merit a response. Balan emphasized that Sudhakaran’s words lacked significance, as Govindhan Master’s reputation speaks for itself.
Balan pointed out the stark differences between Govindhan Master and Sudhakaran, highlighting Govindhan Master’s humble background and contrasting it with Sudhakaran’s feudalistic style. Balan concluded by stating that Sudhakaran could never attain the qualities possessed by Govindhan Master, even if he were to be reborn a hundred times.
