Bengaluru: Abdul Nassar Madani, the accused in Bengaluru serial bomb blasts will reach Kerala today for medical treatment and to see his father.

Madani is jailed in Bengaluru for his involvement in the terror case. He is a known Islamic extremist in Kerala and was also accused in a conspiracy to kill RSS leaders. He was arrested in 1998 in connection with Coimbatore bombings but was released after acquittal.

He was again arrested in 2010 for his involvement in Bengaluru serial bomb blasts. Madani has been languishing in jail since then with a few outings under bail at different times.

The Supreme Court had earlier given permission for the accused to travel to Kerala. However the City Police Commissioner had said that Rs.51 lakhs must be deposited as expense in ensuring Madani’s safety for the twelve-day travel.

Hearing the amount of money, Madani had dropped the idea to travel to Kerala. But the Congress government under Siddaramaiah in Karnataka has now become a savior for the terror accused. The government brought down the amount significantly to a meager Rs.6 lakhs so that Madani could travel to Kerala.

The Congress government in Karnataka has brought down the amount of the deposit money without taking in to consideration the seriousness of his terrorism case. The decision of the Congress government in Karnataka to give concession to a terror accused has led to a backlash against the government.

The decision of the Siddaramaiah government to give concession comes at a time when there are criticisms that the Congress came to power in Karnataka with the help of votes of radical Islamists.

The permission of travel for Abdul Nassar Madani is twelve days. He will reach Kerala today evening. It is clear extremists like Madani is receiving help after Congress came to power in Karnataka.

Congress leaders in Kerala have also interfered in helping out Madani get concession in the deposit money. It is said that leaders like KC Venugopal played a role in securing relief to the terror accused.

The Congress in Kerala aims to secure the vote of radical Islamists in the state by helping bomb blast accused Madani.
