Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) State Secretary, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has announced the party’s candidates for 16 Lok Sabha constituencies which includes murder accused and controversial Communist leader P. Jayarajan. The candidate list contains four sitting MLAs and six sitting MPs.
Communist Party of India (CPI), the junior partner in the ruling Left Democratic Front had earlier announced their candidates to the other four seats.
While the CPI(M) is publicly distancing itself from the political killings in Kerala, the name of P. Jayarajan as candidate from Vadakara is a strong message – the party is not willing to tone down their political violence.
P. Jayarajan, who is the party secretary of Kannur district, has been accused in many murders including the brutal killing of RSS activist Kathiroor Manoj.
