Thiruvananthapuram: Nuzarath Jahan, a prominent leader of the Republican Party, expressed the anticipation of Indian Muslim women for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). While participating in a debate program on Janam TV, Nuzarath expressed that Muslim women warmly embrace the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

She emphasized that the UCC would provide relief to Muslim women who have faced discrimination. Nuzarath credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being instrumental in granting refuge to Muslim women and highlighted the significance of implementing a law that had remained unenforced for 73 years.

During a debate on Janam TV, Nusrat Jahan stated that the UCC would bring about a revolutionary change in the lives of Indian Muslim women. She pointed out the numerous advantages that arose from the passage of the Triple Talaq Prohibition Act, noting that it is now impossible for Muslim men to abandon their wives unilaterally.

Nuzarath credited the Prime Minister for upholding the dignity of Muslim women by ensuring social justice for them, which has generated immense enthusiasm among Muslim women for the UCC. Those who oppose the Uniform Civil Code, she argued, tend to favor polygamy and male dominance.

Nuzarath further stated that the implementation of the UCC would eliminate all forms of discrimination in the future. She attributed her ability, as a Muslim woman, to freely express her opinion to the presence of a strong ruler like Modi, who has created an environment where people like her live without fear of attacks.
