Pathanamthitta: Even after strong opposition from Hindus the Communist government in Kerala is not backing down from its anti-Hindu stand at Sabarimala.
In a clear violation of Hindu traditions and beliefs, the Kerala police tried to sneak in two women from Karnataka into the holy shrine. However, the timely response of Ayyappa devotees blocked their attempts.
The Sabarimala temple opened yesterday for its ten-day long festival. Although the government had backed down from deploying huge police force at the temple and did not impose restrictions on devotees, they are still in favour of breaking the traditions of the temple.
The scaling down of restrictions are widely seen as the government’s effort not to antagonize the Hindu community further before the Lok Sabha elections.
However, the government has not fully backed down and today’s attempt is seen as the best example that they will not hesitate to hurt Hindus sentiments again.
