Thiruvananthapuram: Visakh, the leader of SFI and the main accused in the Kattakkada Christian College election impersonation case, has surrendered before the investigating team. He turned himself in because the deadline to appear in court had passed. It is reported that, Dr. GJ Shaiju, the first defendant and former principal, may also turn himself in. The High Court had previously denied requests for bail of both. They were required by the court to appear in front of the investigative officials on July 4.
The court said that the accused are facing significant accusations in the case, and it appears from the outset that they have acted dishonestly and fraudulently. Visakh’s name should be looked into as to why it was forwarded to the University.
The court further noted that Visakh’s claim of innocence could not be accepted and that Visakh had signed the document the principal had sent to the University. Therefore, it is necessary to interrogate the accused who have been taken into custody.
