Thiruvananthapuram: The next two weeks will be crucial in the spread of fever in the state, according to the health department. There will probably be a steady rise in cases. The Health Department recommends against self-medicating and suggests going to the hospital for care if the fever lasts longer than two days.
Yesterday, 12,694 residents of the state sought treatment for fever. 2,194 cases in the Malappuram district make up the majority of the infected. Currently, 3 people have passed away from fever, of which 2 have been suspected to have had dengue fever and one, rat fever. While 250 persons sought medical attention for dengue symptoms, only 55 of them were diagnosed with the disease. 54 people have died from dengue disease so far this year.
