THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health workers in Kerala have called for a special study as an unusual set of symptoms has begun to report in patients with fever. The necessity for a study arises from the unprecedented nature of these symptoms, which include body redness and swelling. Such symptoms have been widely reported by individuals experiencing fever, accompanied by allergic reactions.
Furthermore, there has been a concerning increase in the number of individuals who recover from fever only to experience a recurrence within a week. This trend, along with the occurrence of flu-related deaths among previously healthy young individuals, adds to the growing apprehension. Yesterday alone, 13,248 people sought medical treatment for fever, and unfortunately, two deaths were recorded.
State health workers are closely monitoring influenza hotspots to implement preventive measures. However, a significant shortage of medical staff is causing delays in several prevention processes. Additionally, the health department has issued a warning about the expected rise in dengue fever cases in the state.
The shortage of an adequate number of health workers in the state has been raised as a significant concern.
