THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Massive scams in the procurement of police dogs have led to the suspension of the dog squad nodal officer. AS Suresh, the assistant commandant of KAP third battalion and the responsible officer, has been suspended as a result of the vigilance report.
Prior to this incident, several complaints had been lodged against Suresh, prompting the vigilance department to conduct an intelligence investigation, which ultimately led to his suspension.
According to the vigilance report, dogs were purchased at inflated prices from suppliers in North India. Additionally, Suresh procured dog supplies from a company in Thiruvananthapuram at exorbitant rates. It was also discovered that Suresh selected locations for dog training that lacked the necessary infrastructure, despite the presence of a well-established system at the Kerala Police Academy. It is alleged that Suresh received commissions or other favors from them.
The vigilance department sought permission from the Home Department to investigate the irregularities and potentially file a case. Consequently, the Home Department took action based on this request.

On the basis of this action was taken by the Home Department.
