Ernakulam: Actor Vinayakan is facing heavy backlash from all quarters after he posted a video in which he insults the former Chief Minister and Congress leader, Oommen Chandy. Complaints have been filed against the actor for his offensive video.
Youth Congress activist, Sony Pananthanam, and also Ernakulam DCC General Secretary, Ajith Ameer Bava, have registered submitted complaints to the police. According to the complaints, Vinayakan, spoke derogatorily about Oommen Chandy’s death and used offensive language and spread it over social media.
The actor is now facing huge criticisms in social media. Abusive comments have filled his social media account and some have also threatened to manhandle the actor.
In the video, Vinayakan asks who Oommen Chandy is and why three days of mourning. He addresses the media and tells them to stop this. Oommen Chandy is dead, what should we do? My father is dead and your father is also dead. What should we do? If the media thinks that Oommen Chandy was a good man, I won’t think he is good. He also says to look at Karunakaran’s character to gauge who Oommen Chandy is.
The words used by the actor are disrespectful and insulting. He has since withdrawn the video after it came under heavy backlash.
Vinayakan, a leading actor in Malyalam film industry, has come under criticism before also for his crass language and behavior.
