Kozhikode: The controversial and insulting statements made against Hindu beliefs by the Speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly have led to widespread criticisms in the Hindu community. The Hindu Aikya Vedi has now demanded that AN Shamseer render an apology for insulting Hindu beliefs.
Hindu Aikya Vedi State General Secretary, K Shynu, said that the Speaker must withdraw his statements and apologize to the Hindu community.
K Shynu said that Shamseer’s statement that Hindu Puranas are superstition is proof of his ignorance. Shamseer’s attitude towards the Hindu community and his respect and praise for other religions’ worship systems is a disgrace to the position he holds.
The Hindu Aikya Vedi leader reminded the previous instances when CPI(M) leaders have insulted Hindu community. Shynu recalled Sreemathi Teacher’s derogatory statements against women going to temple and M Swaraj’s mocking of Lord Ayyappan and Maalikapurathu Amma. Sreemathi teacher and M Swaraj are long time CPI(M) leaders and have served in various capacities within and outside CPI(M).
He continued that the communist party since its inception has insulted the Hindu scriptures and the temple worship system and has always sought to destroy it.
K Shynu also warned Shamseer and the Marxist communist party and said that the Hindu community by overcoming all these obstacles.
He also called out to all Hindu devotees to come forward and respond strongly against AN Shamseer’s statements.
Hindu Aikya Vedi is a nationalist and cultural organization in Kerala affiliated to the Sangh Parivar. It works for the unity of Hindus in Kerala society.
Earlier, BJP State President, K Surendran, also demanded an apology from the Speaker and asked him if he had the courage to speak like about other religions.
