Speaker AN Shamseer’s speech disrespecting Hindu beliefs and deities, has ignited a major controversy. His words are being cited as a recent example of the CPI(M)’s alleged anti-Hindu stance. Hindu believers have expressed their anger and criticism against the speaker for openly insulting and showing contempt for their religious convictions.
Various organizations, including BJP, Yuvamorcha, and Hindu Aikyavedi, have filed a complaint with the police, pointing out that Shamseer’s statements are intended to incite religious discord. Moreover, complaints against Speaker AN Shamseer are pouring in from different parts of Kerala.
In the wake of AN Shamseer’s controversial anti-Hindu speech, videos of his previous speeches and discussions have emerged on social media. These videos show Shamseer conducting classes emphasizing the significance of Islam, despite being a communist leader. He is seen praising Islam, the Quran, Islamic beliefs, and Sharia law in these videos. The stark contrast between his admiration for Islamic religious beliefs and his criticism of Hindu beliefs and mythology raises questions about the communist leader’s duplicity.
A. N Shamseer made the following remarks regarding Hindu beliefs:
“Science is not ‘Ganapathi and Pushpaka Vimana’; these are all myths. Embracing superstitions from the Hindutva era will hinder progress. In the age of artificial intelligence, these stories are merely myths. The incidents depicted in Hindu mythology promote superstitions, such as the belief in the beheading of an elephant’s head and subsequent plastic surgery. The notion of Pushpaka Vimana is false propaganda. We must embrace the era of technology and discard such myths.”
But when it comes to Islam A. N Shamseer says:
“Islam believes that Allah sends angels to the earth to determine one’s destination, whether it be heaven or hell, and to ascertain whether one is a believer or non-believer. For Muslims, life goes from “Namaz” to “Adhan” (നിസ്കാരം മുതൽ ബാങ്ക്) with their spiritual journey commencing from the moment a prayer is offered in the newborn’s ears in the delivery room. Angels are tasked with observing and recording the deeds, both good and evil, of individuals in the mortal world.
Shamseer emphasizes that the Quran presents a progressive vision of how human beings should lead their lives, and it is essential not to depict it as being anti-woman. He believes that Islam provides significant protection and empowerment to women.
