Kozhikode: CP(I)M has confirmed its participation in a seminar organised by the Muslim Coordination Committee against the Uniform Civil Code. Scheduled for the 26th of this month, the event will witness CP(I)M representatives sharing the stage with various Muslim organisations. The decision comes in the wake of CP(I)M’s recent seminar in Kozhikode, where several Muslim organisations actively participated.
Sadiqali Shihab, the State President of the Muslim League, holds the position of Chairperson within the Muslim Coordination Committee, which also includes several extremist organisations, among them Jamaat-e-Islami. Despite this, CP(I)M has received a special invitation from the Muslim Coordination Committee to attend the seminar.
The Muslim Coordination Committee is headed by the League. There were initial doubts about CP(I)M’s willingness to join the Muslim Coordination Committee’s seminar due to its association with the League. However, the CP(I)M recently confirmed its active involvement in the event, signalling its support for the cause.
The Muslim Coordination Committee comprises prominent members like the Muslim League, Jamaat-e-Islami, Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama, KNM, Dakshina Kerala Jami-iyyatul Ulama, Wisdom Global Islamic Mission, Markazudaawa, MES, and MSS.
