Thiruvananthapuram: Many Hindu organizations have come against the Speaker of Legislative Assembly, AN Shamseer, for insulting Lord Ganapathy and Hindu beliefs. The Hindu organization, Akhila Tantri Pracharak Sabha submitted a complaint to the Governor, Arif Mohammed Khan, against the Speaker for his irresponsible remarks.
AN Shamseer in a speech said that Lord Ganapathy is a myth and Hindu Puranas do not promote scientific temper. However, he did not mention that the Gods of other religions are myths and superstitions. Many people on social media asked how a Speaker, who holds constitutional position, can bash the beliefs and concepts of one religion.
The Akhila Tantri Parcharak Sabha in its complaint said that AN Shamseer had degraded and misused the constitutional position of Speaker. The organization also demanded the resignation of Shamseer from the position of Speaker.
Many other Hindu organizations also came against the Speaker’s statement. The Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi or Kerala Temple Protection Council staged a protest march towards the Secretariat against the Speaker’s insults to Hinduism. The organization also demanded an apology from AN Shamseer for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.
The BJP and VHP have decided to lodge complaints against Shamseer in all the police stations across Kerala.
Hindu organizations are planning to widen the protests against Speaker AN Shamseer if no due actions are taken against him.
