Thiruvananthapuram: Today marks the 20th birthday of Namitha, a college student from Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, who tragically lost her life yesterday after being struck by a speeding bike while crossing the road in front of the college.

Her family and friends are still in disbelief over the loss of Namitha, who had a promising future ahead. After completing her B.Com course, she had aspirations to study Chartered Accountancy (CA).

Fellow students from the college also staged a protest, demanding stringent action against the bike rider, Anson Roy. The Motor Vehicle department has confirmed that Anson’s driving license will be revoked due to his actions. The police have registered a case against Anson, charging him with multiple offenses, including murder.

There have been more than 10 cases registered against Anson, in several police stations.

Furthermore, the police are preparing to impose the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA) on the accused, Anson, in order to hold him accountable and deter others from engaging in similar irresponsible actions.
