Kochi: A shocking revelation was made by Malayali terrorist, Ashif, arrested from Tamil Nadu by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). He revealed that there is a unit of Islamic State (ISIS) in all the fourteen districts in Kerala. These terrorists work as the Kerala module of the Islamic State.
The plan was to make inroads into Kerala for the dreaded ISIS under the leadership of Ashif, a native of Trissur. For this, Ashif had found three of four persons from each district of Kerala. He has handed over the names of about 30 persons to the NIA. These persons are also under the surveillance of the NIA.
The group had planned to conduct Sri Lankan model attacks. Prominent persons in Kerala were also targeted. The investigation team has intensified the search for the second accused in the Malayali ISIS terrorist case, Nabeel, in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
It is learned that Nabeel has passed on secret messages to Ashif. Nabeel was responsible to find out youths attracted to religious terrorism and make them part of the Kerala ISIS module.
The NIA plans to get Ashif again into custody and question him after completing the examination of the digital evidences confiscated from Ashif. The NIA nabbed Ashif and broke the ISIS Kerala module after the investigation agency got inputs about the presence of the ISIS persons in Kerala.
The NIA has also got information that terrorists got local support in Tamil Nadu too.
