Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan will seek a report from the state government on the murder of the five-year-old girl at Aluva.
The Governor said that the government may not be able to prevent everything but the duty of the government is to take strong action against such culprits. He said that such strong actions by the government will become an example so that nobody will repeat such offenses in future.
Five-year-old girl, daughter of a couple from Bihar, was kidnapped by migrant worker, Asfaq. She was sexually assaulted, hit on the head with stone and strangulated to death. Her body was dumped at muddy area on the banks of Periyar River near the Aluva market.
The police had searched for the missing child for 21 hours. They were able to arrest the accused from the CCTV visuals which shows Asfaq taking the child away. He was in an inebriated condition when the police arrested him in the evening.
